Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies are, which ones we use on igfollowers.shop, why we use them, and how you can turn the optional ones off.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file a website saves to your browser. The next time you visit, your browser sends that file back so the site can remember things — like that you're already logged in, or that you've already dismissed a notice.

We also use a few similar technologies (local storage, pixels) which we group together with cookies for the purposes of this page.

The cookies we use

Strictly necessary (always on)

These keep the site working. Without them, things like the checkout, your cart and login won't function. We don't ask permission for these because we wouldn't have a site without them.

  • igshop_session — keeps you signed in during your visit. Expires when you close your browser.
  • igshop_cart — remembers what you've added before checkout. 7 days.
  • igshop_cookie_choice — remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies, so we don't keep asking. 12 months.
  • __stripe_* — set by our payment processor (Stripe) for fraud prevention during checkout. Up to 30 days. Stripe's cookie policy.

Analytics (optional)

These help us understand which pages get used, which guides convert best, and where people get stuck. The data is aggregated — we can't link it to you personally. You can turn these off from the cookie banner or at any time below.

  • _pa, _pa_session — Plausible Analytics. Stores nothing personal; just a hashed device ID that rotates daily.
  • _hjid, _hjSession_* — Hotjar session recordings (anonymised). Helps us see how readers use the site.

Marketing (optional)

These let us measure ad performance and re-show guides to people who looked at them. Off by default until you opt in.

  • _fbp — Meta Pixel, used to measure conversions from Instagram and Facebook ads.
  • _ttp — TikTok Pixel, same purpose for TikTok ads.
  • _gcl_au — Google Ads conversion tracking.

How to manage cookies

You can change your choice at any time:

  • Click the Reset cookie choices link to bring the banner back.
  • Your browser also lets you block or delete cookies entirely — usually in Settings → Privacy. Be aware that strictly-necessary cookies are required for checkout to work.
  • If you want a full export of what data we hold on you, message us via the contact page and we'll send it within 30 days.

Do not track

We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and "Do Not Track" headers. If your browser sends either of these, we treat that as a "reject" for optional cookies and don't fire any analytics or marketing tags.

Changes to this policy

We'll keep this page up to date. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when we last revised it. If we add a new category of cookies, we'll bring the banner back so you can re-choose.
